Heavy Diesel Mechanic
The Role:
If you are looking to gain experience within the Local Government sector and believe you can work safely as part of a great team within the community, this could be a great opportunity. Our client is a Local Government division SOR and are currently seeking a qualified Mechanic to join their team to assist in routine and scheduled inspections, maintenance, and repairs on their Heavy Diesel Fleet vehicles + machinery.
- Diagnosing faults,
- Replacing worn parts
- Performing scheduled maintenance like oil changes, brake pads, wheel bearings & Hydraulic Systems.
- Working safely autonomously and as part of a team with strong knowledge of OHS standards.
Criteria:
- Valid driver’s licence - HR. (Desirable)
- Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Required)
- Cert III in light Vehicle Mechanical Technology & Motor Vehicle repairers Certificate (Desirable)
- Previous Experience in similar roles (Highly Desirable)
- Experience in Hydrolic system diagnosis, repair and maintenance
- Strong understanding of both mechanical and electronic systems
- Good manual dexterity and physical stamina to work with tools and in various positions.
- Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.
- Current National Police Clearance – Clean record
- Pass a Drug & Alcohol Screen Test
- Role is Casual/ Temporary with potential to lead to Permanent
